Sound Advice For Life — Student Development Program

Sound Advice For Life (SAFL), was established in January 1993 by former Minnesota Vikings all-pro running back Chuck Foreman. Its purpose is to provide positive reinforcement and guidelines for a productive life! Our Mission is to instill goals and values in the youth of today. Our children need to understand the importance of communication, respect commitment and most of all, being a solid and productive citizen. Along with building self esteem and character.

Youth Goals
  • To build a greater sense of self-esteem and self-worth
  • To instill values of cooperation, commitment, support and self-sufficiency
  • To encourage and promote school attendance, participation and graduation
  • To help provide adult role models and socially appropriate activities
  • To help establish youth groups, which provide peer support and group cohesiveness
The program is led by Chuck Foreman himself and includes:
  • A video tape introduction
  • Youth talk
  • Case studies
  • Book of life story

Over the past several years Sound Advice for Life has teamed with the Wal-Mart Corporation to raise money for the Children's Miracle Network and to fund this program, so that it may be provided at no charge to the schools. During that time we have spoken to over 25,000 students, driven over 70,000 miles and helped raise over $50,000 for charity. In March of 2005 the College Football Hall of Fame honored Chuck with the Community Service Award, for his work with Midwest at-risk youth.
