Meet Chuck
Widely recognized as the “Spin Doctor” for his running style in avoiding would be tacklers. Chuck is a native of Frederick, Maryland. A standout athlete excelling in football, basketball and track, Chuck went on to attend the University of Miami—The “U”—where he played defensive back, wideout and running back. He’d go on to play running back in the NFL, primarily catching passes out of the backfield, what some consider a pre-cursor to the West Coast Offense style of play. In 2005, the College Football Hall of Fame honored Chuck with the Community Service Award, for his work with Midwest at-risk youth. In 2007, Chuck became part of the Minnesota Vikings Ring of Fame. Chuck is currently a teacher in the Minnesota public school system and serves in an advisory capacity with the 2010 East-West Shrine Game played in Orlando, Fla.
Pro Career:

The 12th overall pick of the Minnesota Vikings in the 1973 NFL Draft , Chuck rushed for 801 yards on 182 attempts and caught37 passes for 362 yards, earning him the consensus for NFL Rookie of the Year. In 1975, he lead the conference with 73 receptions and finished just 6 yards behind Jim Otis of the St. Louis Cardinals in rushing. Chuck's 22 total touchdowns tied Gale Sayers' former NFL record. He was named conference player of the year by The Sporting News in 1974 and by United Press International in 1976.

Chuck was named to the All-Pro Team in 1975 and 1976 and played in five consecutive Pro Bowls (1973-1977). Rushing for 5,950 yards and 53 touchdowns in 1,556 carries, averaging 3.8 yards per attempt, and catching 350 passes for 3,156 yards, a 9.0 average, and 23 touchdowns over his NFL career.
